Program Description
This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at the University of Sussex followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Sussex. In the International Year One programme, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.
International Year One in Film and Media is the first step in your journey to a variety of Film and Media degrees at the University of Sussex. English language and career skills are combined with subject-specific modules such as cultural studies, media industries, media practice and media texts, to provide you with a strong foundation for your chosen Film and Media degree.
While studying a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications at Sussex, you learn from leading researchers in the fields of media and communications who are concerned with equalities, freedom, social justice and critical thinking in contemporary society. They help you develop an understanding of the role the media plays in shaping our political, social and cultural worlds. You can combine rigorous critical and historical studies of media with opportunities for creative practice to enable you to gain the skills you need to pursue your chosen career.
