Program Description
The Hispanic Studies program in the department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures (MFLL) at the University of Tennessee develops Spanish language proficiency as it fosters critical thinking through literary, cinematic, and linguistic analysis. Students can earn a B.A. in MFLL with a concentration in Hispanic studies or Language and World Business/Hispanic Studies. In cooperation with the Center for International Education, Spanish faculty coordinate various study abroad programs (see Current Students > Study Abroad)
For undergraduates, a Hispanic Studies concentration can be an advantage in gaining employment in fields such as teaching, translation, journalism, international business or law, foreign service, and the travel industry.
