About General English
Program Description
University of the Pacific's General English program is an intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program for international students looking to strengthen their English skills in a university setting. With this non-academic (non-credit bearing) program, no minimum English score is required. All English and academic levels are accepted. Students can study in the USA and enhance their English skills with their fellow international students in a campus setting.
In each level of the program, students take English language courses that focus on building students’ skills and expanding their knowledge of U.S. culture. Students practice reading, writing, listening and speaking in the morning. In the afternoon, students participate in classroom and on-campus experiential learning activities organized around a different theme each week.
