Data has been called “the oil of the digital economy” because of its immense potential. University of West Florida's Master of Science in Data Science program will give students the skills they need to innovate in a data-rich world. The data landscape is rapidly changing and transforming nearly every discipline.
In University of West Florida's Master of Science in Data Science program, students will develop expertise in mathematics, statistics, computer programming, data management, machine learning and visualization to meet the growing needs of industry, not-for-profits, government agencies and other organizations.
The Master of Science in Data Science is for students who hold bachelor’s degrees in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, business, health or related fields.
In the analytics of business decisions track, Students will learn to use data to make business decisions, solve problems and improve efficiency. The coursework equips them with knowledge of statistical tools and programming, mathematical and statistical algorithms and operation management.
