Utica University’s comprehensive program in computer science offers sound preparation for both professional accomplishment and graduate study. The major prepares students to design and implement all types of software and devise new ways to use computers, including web applications, robotic, vision, and intelligent systems, and games and simulations. Taught by an expert faculty, the program prepares students for a variety of lucrative careers.
The Utica University Computer Science department follows a curriculum recommended by the Association for Computing Machinery, a top organization for computer professionals. Computer science majors pursue concentrations in one of three areas: business applications, scientific applications, or computer security. Foundations in the theory of computer science, including data models, structures, and algorithms prepare students for a wide range of careers, including knowledge engineering, virtual reality, aerospace, computer security, and business.
