About Associate of Science - Hospitality and Tourism Management

The Hospitality and Tourism Management Associate in Science (A.S.) degree at Valencia College is a two-year program that prepares students to go directly into a specialized career within the hospitality industry, including: Hotel Operations and Management, Event Planning and Management, Restaurant & Foodservice Management, and Bar & Beverage Management.

Not only is their program located in Orlando, one of the most popular tourist areas in the country, but it also boasts a state-of-the-art 50,000 square foot facility— the Walt Disney World Center for Culinary Arts and Hospitality. Valencia’s program combines classroom instruction with hands-on training to help students move into supervisory and mid-management positions in lodging, food service, tourism, and other potential hospitality careers. Thanks to a strong connection to the Central Florida Hospitality industry and related professional associations, students have many employment opportunities to explore as well as scholarship support for their educational and professional needs. One of the most valuable aspects of the program is the opportunity to complete a 240-hour internship, which enables them to develop skills and expertise in guest services and management, as well as technical areas. Their campus features a mixology lab with a 24-foot bar and brewery, baking and pastry labs with artisanal bread baking ovens and a chocolate spraying room and culinary labs featuring induction stoves and a microgreen growing cabinet.
