Dual Program - College Diploma - Video Game Design and Animation & Bachelor of Creative Arts (BCA)

Students can combine the Toronto Film School Video Game Design & Animation diploma + Yorkville University Bachelor of Creative Arts dual degree pathway to receive both a creative arts diploma and creative arts degree at the end of their studies!

In the Video Game Design & Animation diploma program, students will learn to conceive, design, script, model, texture, and animate characters and worlds, guided by a faculty of accomplished game creators credited on titles such as Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 5, and Max Payne 3.

Students can further enhance their education by combining the Toronto Film School Video Game Design & Animation diploma with the Yorkville University Bachelor of Creative Arts degree through a unique dual degree pathway, allowing them to earn both a creative arts diploma and a degree by the end of their studies.

This program explores the entire 2D and 3D game production process, mirroring the collaborative environments of the video game industry. Students will design and produce mid-to-large-scale games with their peers while mastering tools like motion capture technology. They will develop skills in creating artwork and animation, scripting and programming, composing audio effects and music, and crafting production and business plans.

By graduation, students will complete a capstone project and build a robust portfolio that showcases their creative and technical expertise, positioning them to impress prospective employers. Networking opportunities with industry professionals both in and out of the classroom further enhance their career readiness.

DEGREE PATHWAY - FOR GRADUATES WITH THE PASSION TO DO MORE

Graduates can take their skills to the next level with the Bachelor of Creative Arts (BCA) degree from Yorkville University. This degree completion program builds on their existing creative arts diploma and provides advanced leadership skills to succeed in the creative industries.

Through the articulation agreement with Yorkville University, eligible students can complete their BCA degree in as few as 15 months while working, gaining expertise in programming gameplay, managing projects, and leading productions.

*International students are eligible to apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) upon graduation.

How the Bursary Works

• The $19,500 Yorkville Bursary will be applied over the two years of their BCA program, and the $10,000 ApplyBoard bursary will be applied across the entire four years of the TFS + BCA terms of study
