Bachelor of Arts - Psychology

Students can learn why people think, feel and act the way they do. As a psychological science major or minor, they will study the science of human behavior through rigorous research, discussion and hands-on laboratory experience. Students will develop critical thinking, communication and analytical skills that will serve them well in a range of professions, from human services to law.

Albion College's small classes and close faculty relationships, students will be challenged to explore new ideas through collaborative learning and rigorous discussion. They will have the opportunity to undertake independent research in the state-of-the-art laboratories and share their findings with faculty and peers at Albion College’s annual research symposium.

As a psychological science major, students will learn how the brain functions, investigate mental processes and ask the big questions, like how people's personalities develop. They will ground their study in the core principles of human behavior, before delving into advanced classes in clinical, cognitive, developmental, forensic industrial, organizational, physiological, health or social psychology.

Students will get to know the theory and practice of research methods before undertaking their own through laboratory courses, directed study projects or an honors thesis.
