Bachelor of Arts - Art and Design

In the “old days,” students graduating with majors in art saw teaching and graphic design as their most obvious career paths. However, rapidly changing digital fields, the growth in public arts programs, and development of web-based galleries have all created many more opportunities for visual arts graduates to make careers in art-related areas. Art is a highly competitive field, yet Alma College students who work seriously to acquire strong creative problem-solving and technical skills find themselves well-prepared to continue to work as artists after graduation.

Alma College Art Alumni are engaged in many different aspects of the visual arts and are often invited back to the College to exhibit their work and to share their experiences with current students. Many of them continue to support the art program through their willingness to communicate with art students who wish to learn more about career paths in Art and Design.
