About Academic Accelerator - Bachelor of Science - Horticulture - Landscape Horticulture

The Academic Accelerator Program is a two-semester program designed specifically for students who are ready to succeed in immersive English-speaking classrooms, but who also want the benefit of English-language and student support that will help them thrive. The program curriculum offers a balance of university-wide and Academic Accelerator Program exclusive courses, with English-language course supplements that equip students with the practical, subject-specific vocabulary and skills that they need to excel in their coursework. Upon completion of the program, students progress into year two of their undergraduate education with a full year’s worth of academic credits.

The Department of Horticulture has been recognized nationally for its research programs, its student-centered faculty members and its high rate of employment for graduates. Students will learn how to establish, propagate, harvest and manage fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants. They will also learn the principles of landscape design to create and manage aesthetically pleasing environments.

The landscape horticulture track will provide students with the opportunity to combine the science of horticulture and their creative abilities in creating aesthetically beautiful, inviting and functional environments. They will learn valuable skills that will provide them with the competitive edge employers are looking for. Landscape horticulturists use the principles of design and the appropriate plant material to create both residential and commercial landscapes.
