Bachelor of Science - Engineering Technology - Mechatronics Engineering Technology

The BS-ET four-year degree program with a concentration in Mechatronics at APSU is one of only two institutions in Tennessee to be a partner with the Siemens Level 3 Mechatronics certification program. All graduating students have the option to sit for the Siemens Level 3 Mechatronics Systems certification exam. Additionally, the BS-ENGT degree program culminates in a two-course capstone project sequence that draws on skills and knowledge gained in the program. Project management is also a significant part of the BS-ET Mechatronics concentration capstone experience.

The Bachelor of Science (BS-ET) in Engineering Technology with a concentration in Mechatronics will prepare students for employment in the manufacturing industrial sector at the engineering technologist level. Students will specialize in industrial automation and industrial electrical systems while gaining overall engineering technology knowledge and skills required for an engineering technologist level job. Many times, these jobs are referred to as engineer positions in the industry, and the job prospects for this type of position are excellent. Virtually every modern manufacturing facility utilizes industrial automation, and students will be well-positioned to leverage their skills and knowledge in these facilities. With small class sizes and hands-on learning instruction, APSU offers a rounded preparation for the career in Mechatronics.

Students wishing to enroll in BS-ET degree program typically have interests in electronics and electrical systems, industrial robotics, mechanical systems and concepts, 3D printing, manufacturing, engineering project management, and engineering in general. An interest in digital electronics concepts is also a plus. Any student with hobbies that modify, build, or repair electromechanical systems will fit well within the program.
