Bachelor of Science - Health and Human Performance - Public Health

Those who wish to work with people one-on-one, in large group settings, or behind the scenes, students interested in health promotion and improving well-being of individuals and their communities will be a great fit for this program. For students seeking to advance their education with a graduate degree, this program will provide students with the information and skills necessary to excel in health-related master’s program (e.g. Master of Public Health, Master of Healthcare Administration).

Offered on campus, the public health concentration provides students the opportunity to prepare for entry level public health or health education specialist positions in hospitals, clinics, schools, businesses, government, and non-profits. Students will engage in various experiential learning opportunities where they will apply what they are learning in class during community and campus events. At the end of the program, students will be able to apply for and complete a semester-long internship as part of the program, and they will be encouraged to sit for the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®) exam to expand their public health credentials.
