Bachelor of Music (Honours) - Popular Music Performance and Songwriting - Drums and Songwriting

Perform and compose music with BIMM Music Institute's Bachelor of Music in Popular Music Performance and Songwriting degree. Throughout the course, students will learn the necessary skills for a sustainable and successful career in the music industry of today – and tomorrow.

Students will gain invaluable stage experience as well as build expertise in performing music, creating parts, and interpreting songs. The focus will be on core topics of performance, technique, musicianship, theory, and technology. These topics will ensure that all necessary tools are available to be articulate and expressive in musical and compositional output.

Once foundational knowledge is acquired, the course can be tailored according to individual goals and aspirations through a range of optional modules. These modules allow for specialization in areas of personal interest, including creative performance, complementary instrument skills, global music styles, technology, writing for media, recording, teaching, and research. By the time of graduation, students will have developed a broad portfolio of skills to succeed in their chosen career.

Day-to-day learning will take place in large live rooms, smaller studio settings, and lecture-based classrooms. Students will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other aspiring industry professionals, made possible by the thriving BIMM community that brings together talented individuals from all areas of the music industry.

BIMM Music Institute's lecturers, all of whom are still active in the music industry, will guide students throughout their studies. Regardless of the chosen path, students will receive ongoing support to reach their goals, both personally and professionally.
