This Law degree will enable students to progress to the vocational stage of lawyer’s training, to qualify as either a solicitor or barrister. This original and innovative course has been designed in consultation with senior managers to give students both a theoretical and practical experience.

As part of the degree, students will have the option to get involved with practical justice including opportunities to shadow a local judge and experience live mediations from the in-house Mediation Clinic. Through the strong links with the local community, the Citizens Advice, and the local courts, students will have the opportunity to act as a Community Legal Companion for unrepresented parties at court. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on work experience in a legal setting.

The course combines the traditional study of law with a progressive approach, meaning students will experience formal directed teaching, using lectures, seminars and tutorials, with indirect learning and teaching methods such as discussions, student-led seminars, peer-assisted learning, individual and group role play and mooting.
