About Bachelor of Laws - Law - International Relations

This course combines the traditional study of law with a progressive approach, meaning students will experience formal directed teaching, using lectures, seminars and tutorials, with indirect learning and teaching methods such as discussions, student-led seminars, peer-assisted learning, individual and group role play and mooting.

In Year 1, students will typically experience an interactive style of learning involving workbooks and computer-aided assessment as part of their fundamental grounding in legal methodology. Students will study aspects of international relations including key political thinkers and contemporary global politics.

As students progress to Years 2 and 3, they will deepen their knowledge, hone their skills and work with increasing independence. Students will be able to select optional modules enabling them to focus on complex areas of law, which they'll study in depth.

As part of the European Law module, students will have the opportunity to visit a number of international courts and institutions of the EU such as the European Court of Justice, the European Parliament, the International Criminal Court or the International Court of Justice in Strasbourg, The Hague and Brussels.
