About Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Occupational Therapy (B920)

The Occupational Therapy course at Canterbury Christ Church University enables students to become qualified occupational therapists who can help create solutions to everyday problems experienced by individuals or communities accessing their services. Upon successfully completing the course, graduates will be eligible to apply for registration as occupational therapists with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Students will work with people and communities to enable them to carry out everyday activities, such as getting dressed, working, shopping, studying, and playing sports. The program supports students in becoming confident, compassionate practitioners who can adapt to the changing world and consider emerging roles in occupational therapy.

At CCCU, the program challenges the traditional boundaries of occupational therapy practice. It provides students with the knowledge, understanding, and tools needed to promote occupational justice for individuals and communities.

The university features a state-of-the-art simulation suite that offers students numerous opportunities to practice their clinical skills throughout the course. These sessions will prepare them for practice placements and future employment. During their practice placements, students will be supervised by occupational therapists in a variety of health and social care environments.
