About 6 Weeks Pre-Sessional English + 3-Term Pathway - Incorporated Bachelor Year Zero in Media - Continue to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Performing Arts
Students can get the perfect start to their degree at De Montfort University with the International Year Zero (IYZ). Students will take an extra year of study at De Montfort University International College (DMUIC) in order to complete a degree at DMU. Students who take the IYZ will continue to the first year of study of their chosen International Incorporated Bachelor's degree programme at DMU.
This delivery of the IYZ programme includes a six week pre-sessional English course immediately preceding entry to the programme. Throughout the pre-sessional English and IYZ programme, students will be supported at DMUIC. Students will have individual subject tutors who will make sure that they are on track to achieve their study goals. Students will be given feedback both in person and in writing so that they always know how they are doing, and how to improve. Students will also be assessed through regular tests and exams.
Mostly practical, this carefully designed course immerses students in cutting-edge, interdisciplinary practice, preparing them to enter the 21st-century performing arts industry.
This degree programme incorporates many contemporary arts disciplines, such as acting, dance, voice, physical theatre, music theatre, sound design and digital video. It celebrates and investigates the possibilities of live and digital arts in a range of performance contexts, from the traditional to the avant-garde.
This course focuses on making performance, students can tailor their studies across three themes – contemporary performance, digital performance or applied arts and education. Throughout their studies, students will be supported to develop as an innovative artist able to create, perform and manage themselves, and others, within the national and international performing arts industries.
