Students can get the perfect start to their degree at De Montfort University with the International Year Zero (IYZ). Students will take an extra year of study at De Montfort University International College (DMUIC) in order to complete a degree at DMU. Students who take the IYZ will continue to the first year of study of their chosen International Incorporated Bachelor's degree programme at DMU.
This delivery of the IYZ programme includes a six week pre-sessional English course immediately preceding entry to the programme. Throughout the pre-sessional English and IYZ programme, students will be supported at DMUIC. Students will have individual subject tutors who will make sure that they are on track to achieve their study goals. Students will be given feedback both in person and in writing so that they always know how they are doing, and how to improve. Students will also be assessed through regular tests and exams.
Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Media Production
Master the technical foundations and practical skills needed for a role in digital broadcasting or social media production across a range of video, image-making, photography, audio and web formats.
Whether it’s TV, video, radio, or social media content, technology has led the media industry to develop a focus on digital and technical mediums and formats.
Media Production is an industry-focused course, which provides students with the technical foundations and practical skills required for a career in a rapidly changing media landscape, enabling students to pursue roles in industries such as advertising, TV and radio production, journalism and PR.
Teaching modules include image capture and processing, audio recording and production, television documentary production, radio location production, creative media entrepreneurship and social media innovation.
