Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting

Drury University’s accounting major is perfect for students looking to become either public or private accountants. With courses of study that seamlessly integrate accounting instruction with a cross-disciplinary business core, Drury accounting graduates are well positioned for a successful career. A broad foundational knowledge of business concepts is key to understanding the way businesses run, the types of transactions they might incur, and why they may be treated as they are for accounting purposes. Students also engage in community service through VITA, an IRS grant program that prepares income tax returns for low-income households, giving students professional and community service experience.

For students who plan to become public accountants, the accounting curriculum provides students with all the necessary requirements to take the CPA exam. Students desiring to sit for the Uniform CPA exam in Missouri, as well as many other states, must complete 150 hours of education.

Accounting majors are not allowed to receive the Business Administration minor. The Accounting major requires 71 credit hours of coursework.
