English Language Preparation + 3 Term Pathway - International Foundation Year - Humanities, Law and Social Science - Transfer to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Geography

The programme is designed to develop Students English language skills and introduce students  to essential academic and study skills before travelling to the International Study Centre to begin their academic programme.

This International Foundation Year provides the subject knowledge, language proficiency and study skills students need to progress to degree study at the Durham University, Durham City campus in a range of subjects related to the humanities, law or social sciences.

After completing this pathway, students will transfer to the BA Geography program. In the first year of Human Geography we introduce the range of our research specialisms and research methods, including fieldwork. The majority of modules in the second and third year focus on human geography’s sub-disciplines and social science methods. The second and third year elective modules progressively lead to material that is at the cutting-edge of research and include optional overseas fieldwork.
