About Bachelor of Science - Biological Systems Engineering - National Resources Conservation Engineering
The College of Agriculture and Food Sciences (CAFS) is one of the world’s leading institutions of its kind. Since its establishment, CAFS has evolved and continue to do so to meet the ever changing needs of the food and agricultural industries.
Their academic programs equip students to understand, tackle and eventually provide solutions to the challenges of the 21st century worldwide as it relates to global food security and fighting world hunger.
Biological Systems Engineering (BSE) integrates engineering and the agricultural, biological, and chemical sciences. The Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Systems Engineering has two options:
- Bioprocessing and Food Engineering
- Natural Resources Conservation Engineering
The program provides the students with a strong background in engineering fundamentals by incorporating a series of general engineering courses offered through the College of Engineering. It then provides a professional focus by combining courses in biochemical, food and natural resources engineering. Within the curriculum, students focus on solving current problems related to natural resource management and conservation as well as biological and agricultural production and processes.
Graduates of the program are prepared for graduate studies in science and engineering, professional studies and/or for work as engineers in industry and government, solving complex engineering problems and designing products and processes.
