About Integrated Foundation - Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Journalism (P501)

On this course, taught by experienced journalists, students will research, write, edit and produce a range of journalism, gaining essential digital skills through live projects including Kingston University's own award-winning River Newspaper and River Online.

Students will also choose from specialist options including broadcast, sport, fashion or visual journalism, as well as study media law and ethics. A focus on employment is at the heart of the course, making students industry-ready through the Future Skills programme and work experience. Teaching methods include workshop-based core skills modules. There are lectures by practitioners, student-led seminars and guided research. Assessment methods are often based on the production of news stories, features and essays. Students may also be appraised on their performance on work placements and work on the campus newspaper.

Graduates have gone on to work in top media companies including the BBC, Reuters, Sky, Channel Four, Hearst UK, Haymarket Media Group, EMAP, DMG Media and REACH.
