The Louisiana State University Theatre program strives to support its students by offering rigorous training in performance practices, stage history and literature, and critical thinking skills essential to a liberal arts education. The program aims to prepare graduates for careers in professional and educational theatre, while also emphasizing the importance of theatre in reflecting and participating in broader cultural practices. A global perspective on performance is encouraged, with production skills training fostering awareness of contemporary intellectual and political issues.
The Film & Television program is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge for both on-stage and on-camera work. The program is closely linked to the Louisiana film industry’s demand for highly skilled artists, technicians, and administrators.
The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a concentration in Film and Television is unique in its inclusion of hands-on courses in production technology, acting for the camera, and content creation.
