The Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Ecology and Management offered by the School of Renewable Natural Resources at LSU provides a diverse curriculum with a focus on wetlands, wildlife, conservation biology, fisheries, aquaculture, forestry, habitat management, and law enforcement. Graduates of this program may become certified professional scientists through organizations such as The Wildlife Society, American Fisheries Society, or the Society of Wetland Scientists. They go on to work for state or federal wildlife and fisheries agencies, land management organizations, environmental consulting firms, or pursue further education in veterinary school or advanced research-oriented degrees.

The B.S in Natural Resource Ecology and Management at LSU offers specialized tracks in areas such as Conservation Biology, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Wildlife Ecology, Wildlife Habitat Conservation and Management, Wetland Science, Ecological Restoration, Forest Enterprise, Forest Resource Management, Pre-Veterinary Medicine, and Pre-Vet Wildlife with a Wildlife and Fisheries Concentration. Students interested in becoming wildlife or zoo veterinarians can follow a curriculum that aligns with the requirements for application to the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine.

The program also provides access to unique facilities and resources, including the Lee Memorial Forest with dorms and teaching facilities, as well as vans and trucks for off-campus field trips and activities. Students can expect field experiences in forests, wetlands, and aquatic environments, focusing on habitats, animal populations and communities, and human aspects of resource management.
