About Bachelor of Arts - Acting
Turn students acting passion into career potential at Lycoming College! Lycoming College's rigorous production schedule and diverse curriculum are designed to provide student with countless performance opportunities.
The acting curriculum introduces students to a wide variety of approaches to acting, from Stanislavski to contemporary acting techniques. It is meant to develop their whole instrument and help students gain strong performance skills through collaborative work and individualized “coaching” sessions with faculty. In the classroom and in productions, the diverse exposure to a variety of dramatic styles and genres helps students to further cultivate their performance potential—allowing them to become a versatile performer.
In addition, students have the opportunity to develop their unique senior project, and to build their professional resume through variety of experiences in multiple aspects of production.
Graduate Outcomes:
- During their time at Lycoming College, theatre majors are encouraged to audition for, and interview with, a variety of professional companies and summer theatre programs and organizations. With guidance, portfolio preparation, and audition coaching provided by Lycoming faculty, they have secured professional internships during their college career and jobs after graduation.
- Students and alumni have been employed as actors, choreographers, directors, stage managers, musical directors, house managers, designers, theatre development officers, lighting/sound technicians, theatre teachers, technicians, and carpenters in theatres all over the country, including Philadelphia and New York City. Lycoming College's students have worked with:

- InterAct Theatre Company
- Walnut Street Theatre
- Disney College Program at Walt Disney World
- Movement Theater
- Millbrook Playhouse
- Lincoln Center Director's lab
- Venice Theatre
- Cleveland Playhouse
Some of alumni have started their own theatre companies; others have pursued advanced degrees in theatre and/or other fields in well-regarded graduate programs, such as:
- Directing at New Theatre School in NYC
- Acting at Stella Adler Studio of Acting in NYC
- Arts Administration at Drexel University
- Theatre and Community at Emerson College
- Stage Management in Rutger's Mason Gross School of the Arts
- Directing at Actors Studio

- Divinity at Moravian Theological Seminary
