The IT-Web Software Developer program at Madison College meets the specific skills and knowledge requirements of technical and professional jobs within the information technology field for an entry-level web analyst/programmer. This technology-based program is designed to meet entry-level educational needs in most segments of the IT field, which utilizes a variety of computers. Training blends general educational development and required IT technical skills. Graduates are prepared for entry-level web developer jobs in government, insurance, manufacturing, service, software development, wholesale and retail sales, utilities, banking and accounting.
After completing the IT-Web Software Developer program at Madison Area Technical College, students will be able to:
- Write moderately complex web applications using current enterprise Java.
- Write complex web applications using current JavaScript.
- Design and implement relational databases and process data using SQL.
- Perform entry-level analysis and design to build user-centric applications.
- Build responsive and accessible websites using HTML and CSS.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the ever-changing IT field and its job roles with emphasis on IT security as it applies to development.
- Work as an ethical and reliable team member using software collaboration tools.
