Master of Arts in Teaching - Biology Education (Grades 5-12)

The Science program has received national recognition from the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). The Science Education Department prepares undergraduate and graduate students to teach Middle Childhood/Adolescence Education: Biology, Chemistry (Grades 5-12), or Physics (Grades 7-12).

Manhattanville College's programs incorporate standards as expressed in the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and the science and technology requirements of New York State. Grounded in a philosophy of every child a scientist, the university prepares teacher candidates to deliver inquiry and problem-based instruction in their classrooms to develop critical thinking and empirical reasoning skills for the 21st Century.
