About Master of Arts - Cinematography
Master of Arts Cinematography offers a unique opportunity to develop the skills and techniques needed to work professionally within the camera department, employing a range of technical and creative techniques to enhance visual storytelling. The programme explores various film formats and processes, preparing students to navigate a rapidly evolving industry.
As the screen industries are transformed by innovative technology, formats, and a growing awareness of diversity, sustainability, progressive workplace practices, and globalisation, this course ensures students are equipped to be a part of this change.
Students will study alongside a group of like-minded aspiring industry professionals. In addition to acquiring craft skills, students will develop essential soft skills such as communication, creativity, and teamwork.

- Industry-Facing: Opportunities to gain a wide range of industry-relevant skills across projects including a short, filmed project, 35mm workshop and shooting exercise, and classes on the function of each major camera departmental role.
- Real-life Experience: Students will get the chance to work as a director of photography alongside other MA pathways on short video content for external clients, providing the opportunity to further highlight their talent.
- Professional tutors: Many of MetFilm School's teaching staff are currently working in the industry as: TV and film directors, broadcast journalists, producers, writers, and more.
