Master of Arts - Documentary and Factual

The Master of Arts Documentary and Factual program provides the skills and understanding required to work as a director and/or producer in today’s factual content industries.

Key topics include finding and developing ideas, researching protagonists, mastering interview techniques, accessing contributors, creating stories, and pitching ideas. Students will gain insight into production roles and develop skills in documentary editing, sound recording, and camerawork. Throughout the degree, funding strategies, audience development, and immersive production experiences will be explored, allowing students to try out a variety of skills.

• Portfolio: Build a portfolio of work, including two core projects (documentary and/or factual programs), along with creative development and pitch documents to support future career goals.
• Professional Tutors: Many of the teaching staff are active industry professionals, including TV and film directors, broadcast journalists, producers, writers, and more.
