4-Term Pathway - Foundation Certificate for Science and Engineering - Continue to Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Biomedical Science

If students have finished high school but don’t meet the entry requirements for university, a Foundation Certificate can help them gain entry to an undergraduate degree.

Students will have plenty of opportunities to get hands-on, using the same equipment and doing the same things they do in industry – in some of the UK’s best labs. They'll study the key aspects of disease and disease prevention including immunology and virology, hematology, clinical biochemistry and histopathology.

If students want to be an NHS Biomedical Scientist, this degree is a requirement for their registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Students will also need experience of working in an NHS laboratory and a training portfolio. NTU can support students to get both of these before they graduate by taking a work placement in an IBMS-approved laboratory, where they can complete their training portfolio.
