About Bachelor of Science - Apparel Design and Technology (BS)
With a Bachelor of Science in Apparel Design and Technology (BS) students can combine the creative expression of design with the precision of apparel production in fashion, technical and functional areas as they learn to generate design concepts and guide them through production.
Learners develop expertise in pattern making, illustration, computer-aided design, 3D design, technical design, garment construction, fabric sourcing and more as they prepare for a career in the global fashion industry. OSU's nationally ranked program offers domestic and international study travel experiences, access to state-of-the-art equipment and technology and competitive internship opportunities.
Apparel Design and Technology graduates are well-equipped to integrate the principles of design, industrial production technologies and the business of the global fashion industry in the following careers:
- Designer for menswear, womenswear, childrenswear and bridal
- Technical design
- Softgoods product development
- Textile design
- Sourcing, including fabric and trim buyer
- Quality assurance
- Functional design, such as military and law enforcement uniforms
