About Master of Science - Human Resources Management

Today's changing business environment requires strategic management of the talent, skills, and knowledge of individuals within a company. With Lubin’s MS in Human Resources Management, students apply what they learn in class to the resource challenges of organizations, demonstrating their capability to innovate and create value.

The MS in Human Resources Management program prepares students for leadership roles within the field of human resources and across organizations. Educating students on the analysis, design, and evaluation of human resources systems and processes—and how those systems are integrated within business strategy—is critical to developing effective and successful human resources leaders.

The curriculum includes courses focused on organizational behavior, labor relations, and employment law. Students gain core human resources management skills: recruitment, compensation, assessment, and training. They also gain specialized skills to succeed in senior-level appointments: analysis of the strategic impact of staffing decisions, processes, retention, and staff-flow management. Theory and current best practices are taught so that students may identify sustainable, competitive advantages by adapting human resources strategies and practices to market fluctuations and shifting pressure from competitors.

Lubin's MS in Human Resources Management program, one of the few in the country to be housed in an AACSB-accredited business school, fully aligns with the Society for Human Resource Management's (SHRM) HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates. The guidelines are part of SHRM's academic initiative to define human resources education standards taught in university business schools and to help universities develop degree programs that follow these standards.
