The Global Student Success Office is committed to supporting a student's journey at Queens College from their initial application through to graduation. The office assists with many aspects of a student's life, including expediting their admission process, offering orientation programs as they transition to the American classroom, and providing academic and social experiences scheduled throughout the year.

The Food Service Management track involves institutional food administration and food science.

The mission of the Food Management Studies specialization is to impart an understanding of the principles of management of food service institutions by integrating didactic and laboratory instruction in institutional food administration and food science.

Students develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills in areas of food management in preparation for careers in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, school meal service or other institutional meal service programs, and the hospitality industry.

Please note: This track does not meet the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements to receive the Verification Statement that is necessary for becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)

It is also designed for students who plan to enter the consumer economics fields in positions with consumer protection agencies, consumer relations departments of business and industry, etc. This specialization is recommended for those wishing to obtain an advanced degree in family studies, consumer studies, social work, marriage and family counseling, or management.
