Bachelor of Science - Spanish - Secondary Education 7-12 - Transfer to Master of Arts - Spanish - Accelerated

The Bachelor of Science in Spanish with a concentration in Teacher Certification is designed for students interested in developing linguistic fluency and high levels of cultural proficiency in Spanish who want to become teachers of the language at the middle and/or high school level. All Spanish classes develop their ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend Spanish, while increasing their understanding of Spanish film, literature, history, geography, and culture. Concurrently, students will fulfill the courses associated with earning certification through the College of Education, and will do one semester of student teaching.

This accelerated pathway program has been designed to provide high-achieving students with the opportunity to complete foundational graduate coursework during their senior year of undergraduate studies in order to accelerate graduate degree completion. This competitive program allows admitted students the opportunity to complete their B.S. in Spanish 7-12 and an Accelerated M.A. in Romance Languages with a concentration in Spanish in five years.
