About Academic Pathway - College Diploma - Hospitality and Tourism (Co-op) Transfer to Pathway Partner Programs
Tamwood Careers students who want to further their international education at a Canadian public college or university have the option to apply to one of their academic pathway partners for admission with advanced standing. Tamwood has entered into articulation agreements with several institutions in Canada that allow for a block transfer of courses from Tamwood Careers to the college/university.
By joining a Tamwood Careers program, students will save on tuition fees and enjoy more free time while studying at one of their partner institutions.
Reasons to take the Academic Pathway program:
- Become Eligible for a Post-Graduation Work PermitStudents who graduate from Tamwood Careers into a public college or university and complete their studies on a full-time basis are eligible for a post-graduate work permit which allows them to stay and work in Canada for up to three years post-graduation
- Obtain Two CredentialsBy starting their program at Tamwood Careers and then transferring into a public college or university students will finish with two credentials – a certificate or diploma from Tamwood Careers and a diploma or degree from one of Tamwood's pathway partner institutions.
- Gain Admission with a Lower English LevelTamwood Careers has a lower admission requirement with respect to English language skills than its pathway partners so students can start studying in their preferred program at Tamwood Careers and upgrade theirr English skills while studying through an English program at Tamwood Language Centres.

- George Brown College (College Diploma - Hospitality - Hotel Operations Management (H133))
- Seneca College (College Certificate - Tourism - Travel Operations (TTO), College Diploma - Tourism - Services Management - Travel Services (TIS) (Optional Co-op), College Diploma - Tourism - Services Management - Global Tourism Business (GTB) (Optional Co-op), College Certificate - Hospitality Foundations (HFC), College Diploma - Hospitality - Hotel and Restaurant Services Management (HTM), College Certificate - Flight Services (FLS), College Diploma - Flight Services - Operations and Cabin Management (FSO))
This workplace readiness program is designed for international students seeking training in and knowledge of transferable soft skills for the international or Canadian workplace. Students gain the essential industry knowledge and skills in customer service, hospitality, and tourism to allow them to be successful in entry to intermediate level positions in a broad range of related employment settings; for example, hotels, motels, resorts, restaurants, convention centres and on cruise ships.
Program Outcomes
By taking the Hospitality and Tourism Program students will acquire and be able to apply the essential skills and knowledge related to:
1.Canada; National Culture and Cross-Cultural Communication, including: Skills working with different cultures, establishing first impressions, skills related to service industry standards.
2. Customer Service, Sales, and Marketing, including: Public speaking skills, problem-solving skills, applying marketing techniques.
3. Travel, Tourism, and Adaption, including: Taking orders, planning for meetings, handling special needs, writing effective communication.
4. Managing Events, Attractions, and eTravel, including: Research skills, organizing events, delivering presentations, time management skills.
5. Tourism, Trends & Impacts, including: Analyzing performance, setting personal and career-related goals, workshop planning.
6. Tourism Based Businesses and Workplace Communications, including: Negotiation skills, management skills, interviewing, and feedback.
