Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Jewellery and Silversmithing

This BA (Hons) Jewellery & Silversmithing course is based on the traditions of craftsmanship, combined with a forward-thinking approach to designing and making.

Students are encouraged to explore diverse approaches to jewellery and silversmithing and are provided with the specialist technical and creative skills required to develop, design and realise their ideas.

UCA provides a stimulating creative environment where physical making and material investigation are at the core of what students will be doing, learning established hand skills and acknowledging the possibilities offered by digital making. Students will have access to excellent workshops giving them the opportunity to work with a range of materials including metal, ceramics, glass, wood, plastics and textiles.

UCA's team of lecturers, who are practicing designers, makers or researchers, ensure what students are learning on the course is current and relevant to industry. UCA’s craft expertise and legacy is well respected within the industry.

Students will gain invaluable experience by taking part in competitions and live projects and talented students have achieved outstanding success over the years, winning awards such as the Goldsmith's Company Precious Metal Bursary, the Guild of Enamellers' Bursary Award, Young Artist of the Year, British Art Medal Student Project Awards and New Designer of the Year.
