Master of Law -Cross Border Disputes (Dual Qualifying - University of Toulouse) (LLM)

This course will teach student  about jurisdiction, choice of law, and the effects of foreign judgements in two countries and specialise in commercial or family law aspects of private international law. Student will spend  first semester in Dundee before completing  studies in the historic city of Toulouse.

Student will start in January and complete dissertation with supervision from our academics over the summer months. Student then go on to the University of Toulouse in September. Successful candidates graduate with the Dundee LLM and the Master 2 degree from Toulouse.

A core aspect of the course is the different learning experience in the French and Scottish components. At Dundee, student are given detailed reading lists that will introduce student to topics and give student questions to consider, with a view to promoting critical thinking through class discussions and reliance on the Socratic method. At Toulouse, teaching is in the form of both lectures and specialist seminars and concludes with a group project.
