Master of Science by Research - Chemistry

Join the Research Groups to engage in cutting-edge research. Each project, lasting 12 months, is one-of-a-kind, reflecting the exciting advancements at the frontiers of research.

Activities are located in purpose-built research laboratories within the JB Firth Building. The building boasts a well-equipped analytical instrumentation suite.

You will take part in the day-to-day activity of an active research group. You'll complete a research project designed by you in collaboration with the group leader. You will use the latest world-class equipment to perform research in your chosen topic. Benefit from personal guidance from one of the world-leading academic staff.

Research is inherently open-ended, allowing individuals the freedom to pursue intriguing leads and draw their own conclusions. They will also benefit from the guidance and expertise of their supervisor, who will always be there to suggest next steps along the way. The program is designed to equip them with exceptional research skills and the potential to advance within their chosen field.

Given the nature of the work, participants will gain a wealth of diverse experience—ranging from technical skills to networking and project management. This broad experience is highly sought after by employers, as it demonstrates the ability to take ownership of a project and see it through to completion.
