2-Term Pathway - Pre-Masters Program - Business and economics - Continue to Master of Science - Finance and Financial Technology

The Pre-Master program is designed to prepare international students who have completed a Bachelor’s degree for entry to postgraduate studies at the University of Reading. If students successfully complete the Pre-Master’s Program to the required level of attainment in all academic areas and achieve the necessary English language score, they will have the opportunity to progress onto a place on a suitable program of postgraduate study.

In the MSc Finance and FinTech program, students will specialize in digital banking and payment systems, Python programming, and finance applications of machine learning algorithms.

The advancements in financial technology have brought about transformative changes in many branches of the finance industry. The introduction of blockchain technology and digital currencies has revolutionized payment systems and led to widespread disintermediation through peer-to-peer lending, crowdfunding for firms, and online stockbroking and robo-advisory services for individual investors. Many of these innovations are based on processing large amounts of data (or “Big Data”) via machine learning algorithms.
