About Academic Accelerator - Bachelor of Arts - Middle Level Education

The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program for international students with good English-language skills. It supplements immersive classes taught in English with just the right amount of support.

The Academic Accelerator Program graduates will receive:
  • The right amount of support for their academic and English-speaking needs
  • A full year’s worth of college credits Access to courses exclusively for international students
  • English-language help with words they need to know for their classes
  • A mix of classes with international and the United States students.
The bachelor’s program in middle level education will prepare students to support the educational and developmental needs of young adolescent learners. Designed specifically for those who have an interest in teaching fifth through eighth grades, the middle level education degree program is nationally recognized by the Association of Middle Level Education as one of the top in the nation.

As a middle level education student, graduates will specialize in two content areas of their choosing from English, mathematics, science, and social studies. This selection will help determine whether they graduate with a Bachelor of Arts, which focuses on literature or history, or a Bachelor of Science, which focuses more on math and science.

The program also includes real-world classroom experience, where learners can expect a variety of instruction practices, including whole-class discussions, hands-on engagement, working one-on-one with young adolescents and role playing.
