International Direct - Bachelor of Arts - Middle Level Education

The International Direct admission to University of South Carolina is for international students with advanced English-language skills. It focuses on academic, cultural, and professional growth so students can excel in school—and prepare for a successful future.

The bachelor’s program in middle level education will prepare students to support the educational and developmental needs of young adolescent learners. Designed specifically for those who have an interest in teaching fifth through eighth grades, the middle level education degree program is nationally recognized by the Association of Middle Level Education as one of the top in the nation.

As a middle level education student, graduates will specialize in two content areas of their choosing from English, mathematics, science, and social studies. This selection will help determine whether they graduate with a Bachelor of Arts, which focuses on literature or history, or a Bachelor of Science, which focuses more on math and science. The program also includes real-world classroom experience, where learners can expect a variety of instruction practices, including whole-class.
