Program Description
This highly varied BSc (Hons) Sociology course is taught by world-leading experts who continually keep the content and approach up-to-date.
Students will develop a detailed understanding of sociological explanations for micro and macro social processes and understand how sociologists from different perspectives have conceptualised the social world.
Students will have the opportunity to engage with a range of topics such as family life, consumption, travel and tourism, migration, gender, sexuality and mental health. Their studies will help them to question common assumptions and to see current issues in a new light.
At Surrey, they will share their renowned knowledge of research design and methodology on the course, allowing students to become confident in observation, interviews, statistics and textual analysis. Students will also gain an understanding of research ethics and develop skills in writing up research.
