Program Description

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the University of Surrey International Study Centre followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Surrey. In your international foundation year you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program.

International Foundation Year

The Business, Economics, Law and Social Sciences International Foundation Year provides the subject knowledge, language proficiency and study skills students need to progress to degree study at the University of Surrey in the social sciences, business, and law. Students will study a core unit of general subject skills, subject-specific units and elective units, which are carefully designed for your academic development.

Degree Program

At Surrey, they make their courses as flexible as possible, meeting the needs of the individuals who apply. This course is at least one-quarter music and more than one-half mathematics. It includes a wide range of mathematics modules in topics such as algebra, analysis, geometry, mathematical biology, fluid mechanics and statistics.

These modules provide an in-depth overview of modern mathematics, and students will receive a thorough grounding in the main mathematical theories and techniques, equipping students for a variety of rewarding careers.

Students will also be able to mix and match performance and composition modules in Years 1 and 2. Composers will explore a wide range of contemporary repertoire and learn to interact confidently with performers of their music, while performers will be able to take advantage of opportunities within the University’s arts and music scene.
