About Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Mechanical Engineering (H300)

Engineers constantly ask questions and explore new ideas. They play a vital role in developing the world from the initial design and manufacture of products to their development, management or marketing.

A degree in Mechanical Engineering will challenge students and transform the way they learn. Students will develop an understanding of stress analysis, dynamics, heat transfer, mechatronics, materials and manufacture, and maths. Students will build core skills that they'll take with them through their career, such as innovation, teamwork and creativity.

The new inclusive, problem-based curriculum aims to broaden the engineering audience. To date, the University of the West of England is the first university in the UK to transform their curriculum alongside constructing a new engineering building.

Students will be taught in the new state-of-the-art School of Engineering designed to revolutionise the way engineering is taught. Featuring engine test cells, dedicated collaborative learning spaces and all of the latest high-tech equipment, it's purpose-built to support a wide range of engineering disciplines.

As student engineers, students will start their professional journey towards becoming an incorporated or chartered engineer from day one. Students will learn by doing, applying and revisiting their early skills through embedded project weeks and development of digital and physical prototypes, as they would in practice.

Mechanical engineers are sought after for traditional engineering jobs and the product development process. They are also highly regarded in the world of financial business. Students will also be in demand to help maximize usage of high capital plants and operations such as power stations, oil refineries and hospitals.
