About Master of Education - Curriculum and Instruction

Washington State University's (WSU) College of Education offers a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. The Curriculum and Instruction specialization offers students rigorous and individually tailored programs of study with two degrees. The non-thesis Master of Education (Ed.M.) degree programs are designed for students with bachelor degrees who have an interest in deepening their knowledge in a specific content area (in or outside the College of Education) and and the thesis Master of Arts (M.A.) focuses on educational research in curriculum and instruction.  The Ed.M. as a specialization is designed especially for teachers who wish to take courses in their teaching field as well as advanced coursework in teaching and learning.

Student Opportunities:

The faculty conduct a wide range of research, some of which is integrated into the public school systems (e.g., professional development for teachers, science and math education teacher workshops and programming for students with disabilities). Students have access to these faculty and their projects through course work and advising structures. Students may seek out faculty with whom they want to work with and learn from. Students are encouraged to take advantage of this invaluable resource to develop their knowledge and theory and apply it to their future practice in the workforce.
