About Master of Arts - Curriculum and Instruction
Washington State University (WSU) offers a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction.
The Curriculum and Instruction specialization offers students rigorous and individually tailored programs of study with two degrees. The thesis Master of Arts (M.A.) focuses on educational research in curriculum and instruction; and the non-thesis Master of Education (Ed.M.) degree programs are designed for students with bachelor degrees who have an interest in deepening their knowledge in a specific content area (in or outside the College of Education). The M.A. is a thesis degree emphasizing applying research, theory, and evidence-based practices to improve education.
Student Opportunities:
The Master of Arts (MA) degree is designed for students who desire to study and explore educational research. The MA degree is well suited for those students wishing to eventually pursue a doctoral degree or a research/leadership role in schools or organizations/agencies. Students use this degree for the preparation of entry-level scholars, focused on inquiry to acquire new knowledge and examine or build on their theory and practice.
