Program Description
he Master of Public Administration (MPA) at DePaul University is designed for current government professionals or individuals seeking to pursue a career in the public sector. The degree equips students with a broad public administration knowledge in government—local, state, federal and international.
This degree is accredited by Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration (NASPAA).
Mission Statement
The Master of Public Administration educates ethical leaders to work in local, state and federal government. Through our cross-sectorial approach to learning, research, and service we help government leaders to connect domestic and global issues, alleviate poverty, and build responsive government. We promote compassion for marginalized communities and service to all people with accountability, justice, professionalism, sensitivity, and transparency.
Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to:
- Explain relevant public management issues to target audiences in the appropriate written and oral formats.
- Apply an ethical framework in making an organizational decision on a current moral dilemma.
- Determine the interactive roles of the business, government, and non-profit sectors in securing public welfare.
- Apply financial and budgeting skills essential to government organizations in written work.
- Demonstrate research competencies through a multi-step self-assessment process.
