Program Description

Experience kinaesthetic learning, get into the laboratory and see how science is practised in the community. Learn how to design the newest materials and pharmaceuticals to improve quality of life for people throughout the world

The Chemistry Major is intended to give students exposure to all areas of chemistry, as well as a solid grounding in general education and a community learning focus. The program also encompasses an optional concentration: Analytical Biochemistry with a strong focus on preparing students for future research or careers in biochemistry laboratories. This major has a strong experiential learning component, both in terms of course-based lab experiences and in Community Service Learning (CSL).
