About Bachelor of Science - General Science
In the final year of study, students complete two capstone courses (a senior seminar and an interdisciplinary project) that provide understanding and exposure to how science and technology intersect and influence society. These capstone experiences are excellent preparation for further post-secondary studies, for professional programs, or for direct entry into the workforce.
Students can choose from a range of courses to attain a general science education. Complete two of the following six concentrations to earn a degree:
Biology
Learn about the science of life in one of three areas: anatomy and physiology, cellular and molecular biology, or ecology and evolution.
Chemistry
Get a mix of classroom and practical laboratory instruction with a focus on organic chemistry, biochemistry or the study of molecular structures.
Geography
Take courses in either physical geography and conservation, or mapping and geographic information systems (GIS).
Geology
Explore different aspects of geology through courses in physical geology, paleontology, hydrogeology and others.
Mathematics
Build the tools needed to understand the mathematical basis of all sciences. Take courses in algebra, calculus, modelling and statistics.
Physics
Study mechanics, waves and optics, and quantum mechanics.
