About Graduate Certificate Bundle - Advanced Manufacturing Management (PAMFM) + Public Relations – Corporate Communications (PPRCC) (Optional Co-op)

Advanced Manufacturing Management Program

Designed for students with degrees or diplomas in related programs, Advanced Manufacturing Management condenses a range of advanced production management skills into one year of intensive study. Plus, with the co-op portion of the program, students are gaining real-world experience and contacts while earning their certificate. The program uses a variety of teaching methods, including case studies, simulations, state-of-the-art software, group work and labs.

Manufacturing has evolved to sophisticated IT-based processes — efficient, productive, integrated and controlled. Advanced manufacturing incorporates manufacturing plus the ability to quickly respond to customer needs through production and supply chain innovation. And manufacturers are increasingly focused on lean-sustainable practices leading to improved performance and reduced waste.

Students will make use of facilities in the Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing (formerly known as the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Design Technologies), one of the most sophisticated manufacturing management college facilities in North America. Fully equipped, the Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing features a suite of laboratories in which Sheridan instructors create realistic simulations that reflect actual shop-floor conditions and manufacturing management situations.

Public Relations - Corporate Communications Program

Can corporate communications be considered an art form? That's how Sheridan approaches the subject. It's a unique approach among business communications programs, and it produces student work that stands out. The courses in this program feature hands-on, project-based assignments. Students will be working for real-world clients, not just doing classroom exercises.

It takes less than a year to earn a Public Relations – Corporate Communications graduate certificate from Sheridan. Students will build a portfolio, get real-world experience and master both practical and theoretical aspects of business communications. Students will spend the last five weeks of the program in an onsite job placement, working with professionals.

In this program, students will learn to:

  • Apply the critical, analytical and strategic skills prized by employers in corporate communications and public relations.
  • Weave social media and diversity communications into all aspects of tactical delivery.
  • Earn an audience's attention, influence attitudes and motivate behaviour.
  • Produce internal corporate communications plans and activities — the fastest-growing segment of the industry.
  • Prepare strategic plans, crisis responses, media campaigns, fundraising initiatives and other planning documents.
  • Develop strategic communication campaigns that integrate all of the above elements.
